Singer/songwriter, Freddy K., was born in Rio Piedras Puerto Rico on June 13, 1980. The son of a Dominican father and Puerto Rican mother, this multi-talented artist grew up with music running through his veins. He comes from a musical dynasty, and because of the musical influences of his family, he knew at a very young age that he wanted to entertain the world.

Freddy began his musical journey in the place he’ll always call home, Chicago. He began his career as a reggaeton artist performing at festivals and nightclubs throughout the city. From there, he ventured into what he loved most, which was performing with a live band. He swept Chicago’s tropical scene with one of his first bachata compositions titled “Acariciame”. This earned him the title of Chicago’s Bachata King and it has always been a favorite amongst his listeners.

His growing talent and increasing popularity began opening the doors of opportunity and he began performing as an opening act for headliners such as El Gran Combo, La Sonora Poncena, Frank Reyes, Pitbull, Oscar D’Leon, Monchy & Alexandra, Fefita La Grande, Leslie Grace, Eddie Santiago, Zacarías Ferreíra, and Maelo Ruiz.

In 2014, he debuted “A Primera Vista”, a bachata single, which was spun in 20 multiple radio markets across the United States, and Music Choice networks. The song was performed live on Despierta America and charted #56 on Billboard’s Tropical Airplay chart.

In 2017, he partnered with beer giant, Coors Light, as their spotlight artist in their My Climb My Music campaign. The campaign featured a video bio of his climb as an artist in the music industry, and an appearance in Coors Light radio ads that highlighted his single “One Day”.

In 2018, he was given the opportunity to perform as the opening act for Latin Grammy-winning Salsa legend, La India, and from that moment, he was inspired to transition into the Salsa genre. In hopes of breaking into the Salsa genre, he joined forces with Isidro Infante, Richard Marcell, and Salsa legend Nino Segarra, who is the executive producer of his first album titled Sabor y Candela.

Welcome to the world of Freddy K.
